It was time to organize

Well My mom went into our shared scrapbook room, which for the past couple months she hasn't stepped into and stated she had no idea where anything was. Well the last time I organized I kinda hide most of her stuff because frankly she is a messy person she leaves things out and then when she does look for something she doesn't take the two seconds of time to put whatever she pulled out back where it belongs. Don't get me wrong I'm not a neat crafter. When I'm working on a project I have stuff everywhere, but I only let a day go by before putting all the supplies away. Anyway due to her comment I went it there this morning because I didn't really have anything to do

and started the process. I moved things around so they made more sense. Figured out what I wanted to help the space some more went shopping for curtains (I found nothing I liked), a shelf and a cork board and a lamp for my bed room. I went to micheal's and did something amazing I walked by the scrapbook section and went to the wood aisle and found three shelves for $15 and had a 50% coupon so I got them for $8.

Went to target got my cork board and lamp and something for dinner and came home to start back in my scrapbook room. I only painted one of the shelves because I want to use crackle paint and don't have enough for the other two. So I painted a shelf, put a button boarder on my chalkboard, make my own pretty tacs using K&Company brads and organized most of the room. I'm pretty proud of myself. Pin It Now!

Minnie and me

This is another layout that I completed over the weekend. I was excited to do this one so excited I bought the Mickey Mouse gems about a month ago thinking I developed the picture with my last batch of pictures. I was highly disappointed when I found out I didn't, but it worked out and I created a pretty good layout.

Materials: Patterned paper (sandlion, Making memories), Stickles and paint (ranger), Ribbon and thread (unknown), Gems and punch (EK success), Cardstock (unknown and Bazzil), Letters (Cricut Jasmine)

Actually Scrapbooking

Well I have been very busy over the last couple of days getting ready for a Labor day picnic my mom was having on Saturday, but I had gotten some new pictures to play with and yesterday I had the day to work for the most part undistrubed in my scrapbook room. So I put some finishing touches on some layouts that I will show at a later time and started and finished this layout of my last ATC group gathering. I took inspiration from the group and what its about to create this layout. The vintage looking paper, the vintage ribbons, the over all feeling of friendship and that feeling I get from creating something for the group ( I used the title and the crowns to demonstrate that). So here are the Queens of the Vintage Room. A wonderful group of ladies that have accepted me as an artist and a friend. They are a truly amazing group of women. I can't wait to see then later this month.

Products used: Patterned paper (prima marketing), vintage buttons (unknown), Vintage Ribbon (unknown), Key, metal butterfly, paper embellishment, gold bird(making memories), Mini Masks, distress inks, distress stickles, grundge board letters, metal "altered" charm (Tim Holtz), exopy stickers (unknown), Heart (chatterbox). New and Improved

Well today I went to one of the blogs I enjoy reading and noticed a link for free blog backgrounds. I found a bunch that I love and ended up with this one. That lead to a new header which needed to be edited with my title and info, a new photo of me and some little tweaks here and there and voila a beautiful blog. So welcome to my new and improved blog. Memories of Papa?

My Papa died when I was very young so I took a moment today to complete this layout and journal about not being able to remember him. I couldn't think of any other direction to go with this picture because I don't remember anything. I don't remember how he smelled or laughed, or how he sounded and it was holding me back from creating so when all else fails write what you know and I know the pain of not remembering someone who was so dear to me. The man who spent everyday with me while my mom was at work. My papa. The layout itself is based on a sketch for a contest on Page maps . I love sketchs and contests are pretty cool so wish me luck. Awesomely 80s mom layout

Well I have been trying to do something with these photos for awhile and then last night I was bored out of my mind and went into the scrapbook/art studio and stared at this for awhile. I had these pictures on a paper from the same line which was neon pink with blue and green splat marks. I liked it but didn't love it so I kept moving it to another sheet of background paper. Until I fell on this one pictured below. I liked it but didn't love it yet. So I took out my Tim Holtz distress inks my mini misters and my blending tool and went work.
This is what the background looked like before.

Then here it is after I went to work. I chose blue and greens because the chair my mom is sitting on has blue and green in it. After I used the mini mister to allow the ink to blend and travel I dried it using my heat gun and then iron it flat with an iron on a low setting.

Completed page

This is an altered prima flower. The flowers were oringally white, but that didn't work with what I was doing so I took my ink pad smeared it on my non stick craft mat. Used my mini mister to get the ink to bead up then put the flower in face down. I then dried it with my heat gun and repeated the process until the color was where I liked it. I then stamped in black soot ink a design from a stamp set. Added a brad and done.

And lastly this is what I enjoy most about my scrapbook room. It is a place were my pets (most oftenly the cats) come to relax with me. When I completed the page I looked to the window where Raven had been sleeping most of the morning and I found him and Kricket curled up together cuddling. It brought a smile to my lips. Pin It Now!

Project complete

Well I put the finishing touches on my canvases this evening. I decided instead of putting a ribbon and hanging each canvas on its own, I instead stapled the ribbon to the bottom of the inspire canvases and stapled that same ribbon to the top of the beauty canvases. I really love how it came out. Click the picture to blow it up and see the details. Pin It Now!
