A little update

So Miss Annabelle Lee is fitting in quite nicely.  She's go an amazing personality! She's cuddly and playful and Raven seems to like her so far.  She is 9 weeks old.  It's been so long that I forgot what it is like to have a kitten.  She up at all hours of the night and morning then sleeps a good chunk of the day.  I may not be getting my beauty rest but I don't really care.  Here are some pretty photos of her I edited using the Rhonna designs app of my iphone.  It's fun! I'm really enjoying it.  I even bought a couple of the add on packs.
I will do an update on my weight loss soon.  Let's just say I'm happy with it. At the moment life is good.

Weight loss journey

I have been one of those people who are completely content with my weight and size (as far as clothing) overall having a positive self image.  But I was starting to eat way more then I should, going to food for comfort, saw those around (people I care about) gain weight in a concerning way.  So I decided after years of being a 12 (slowly going up a size) that it was time to start watching what I put in my mouth.  I downloaded myfitnesspal to my iphone and start documenting what I was eating.  Now after about 30 days I have lost about 8 pounds! I'm putting on pants that I bought to small and now fit.  I seeing my jeans I wear on a regular basis fitting much looser than they were and overall feeling proud of myself. I will look for a before and so far photo to add later.  I want to continue and drop more over time and I know it will be a process.  But I look at it realistically too if I want something (that is "not good" for me) I still will allow a little. I still eat French fries and burgers (but I eat turkey burgers).  I eat frozen yogurt instead of ice cream.  It's the little changes that help a lot.  Pin It Now!

Autism awareness month

So April is autism awareness month and April 2nd was international autism awareness day.  So I decided to not only light up our light poles by the road blue but I'm attempting to wear blue everyday from April 2nd-April 30th.  This will be a huge challenge as I don't own that much blue.  I really should take out everything blue I own and take a picture lol.  So far I'm doing well 3 days in a row with out much issue but by the end of the month it might be a tad challeging. We will see.  So here are my outfits for the last 3 days I will try to do a post every so many days but it might be hard for me cause this semester is coming to a close and I have 3 big projects to get done.  But here goes nothing...

ahh I hate when I can't find what I'm looking for

So I downloaded all my pictures from my phone on to my computer because well....they take up sooooooo much space and I take like a million pictures of nothing...well not nothing there is my adorable nephews yea that's right I said nephews we welcomed a new little one into the world two week ago now. He share a birth month with me which is always fun.  So anyway back to the pictures I was looking through my photos and can't find the card pictures I was looking for OF COURSE! so its either still on my phone or my ipad so I will have to post from either of those.  But for the moment to 1 take my mind off all my homework that I have to get done and 2 to tide you all over till next post here is my new hair of course its new old hair.  I have had it for over a month or two and have had it trimmed once already, but I think I like it! Some days it drive me nuts but so did my long hair.  Well its back to the grind homework is calling my name...actually I'll probably just watch TV and catch up on facebook for the rest of the night.

1st semester almost down

As of this moment I have literately 2 classes left of my first semester of school. It's been a whirlwind I love it and hate it. And now that its finishing up I'm starting to come down with a cold blah! Oh well I will drink lots of tea. I have been able to make some cards for some special events the first is pretty exciting for me my brother and sister in law are expecting their first baby so I will be an auntie again. I made them a congrats card using a unity stamp set. The second card was for a 25 year anniversary. I'm also in the middle of making my christmas cards ill share those soon.

A trip to target

Well I went to target to purchase binders for my classes to get myself organized. I tried one of those portfolio folder things and Found out it didn't work for me. So back to binders I go. Of course I figured I would check the back to school clearance for the binders cause why pay full price. Of course that didn't quite work out cause there was no nice or cute binders left so I sadly paid full price but they are such pretty colors (pink and turquoise). But while searching the clearance section I found pentel arts color pens for $10.48 they were $14.99 so not huge saving but I needed markers for my crafting stuff anyway. I would like to purchase all of the close to my heart markers but it will take me awhile to purchase them all, so these will work in the mean time. Of course having them in my hand made me want to color. I know I have a fairy coloring book somewhere so I searched for it last night but no luck instead I found one of my old sketch books so I settled for doodling. So the other photos are the result of my doodling.

No playing

Since the last post I haven't been able to play and when I do I feel kinda guilty cause I have school work and cleaning to do. I'm hoping soon even if it just a card or two. I hope that everyone is doing well.

Just a little message to someone who probably doesn't even read my blog anymore. I miss you. Just thought you should know.

My Vacation

Last week we packed up our motorcycles and head to our annual Red Knights convention in Gettysburg, PA. The trip there had a few bumps in the road (which included Our bike almost going through the side of the enclosed trailer thank God no damage to the custom paint) but we all made it safely. I think the most amazing thing to me was riding literally through the farmland that was the center of the battleground it was like taking a trip back in time aside from the monuments throughout the land. It was extremely interesting. We had a week of history, ghost stories and lots of laughs. We meet our brothers and sisters from chapters from all over the US, Canada, Sweden, Austria and Belgium. I enjoyed almost every minute of the trip. Everyday i grow more and more thankful for this group and the family that i have because of it. I heard the following poem at least twice during the course of last week. It hits home. Probably not in the way that it hits a firefighter, but being the daughter, girlfriend and sister to firefighters it hits in its own way. I guess I take for granted and sometimes forget that there is always a chance that I could get that phone call that every person dreads.

In Honor
Brother when you weep for me
Remember that it was meant to be
Lay me down and when you leave
Remember I'll be at your sleeve
In every dark and choking hall
I'll be there as you slowly crawl
On every roof in driving snow
I'll hold your coat and you will know
In cellars hot with searing heat
At windows where a gate you meet
In closets where young children hide
You know I'll be there at your side
The house from which I now respond
Is overstaffed with heroes gone
Men who answered one last bell
Did the job and did it well
As firemen we understand
That death's a card dealt in our hand
A card we hope we never play
But one we hold there anyway
That card is something we ignore
As we crawl across a weakened floor
For we know that we're the only prayer
For anyone that might be there
So remember as you wipe your tears
The joy I knew throughout the years
As I did the job I loved to do
I pray that thought will see you through

I could never imagine hearing that something happened to one of my loved ones when they were saving some else's life. I would be proud but
The Extended family local NY Chapter 3 and some of my favorite people who make me laugh
The Family aka a few of the members from NY chapter 12 they make me laugh too!

So excited

Well on top of celebrating my little brother's wedding this weekend I got amazing news myself! I got into graduate school!!!!!! I'm looking forward to the challenge, but a little sad that crafting will take a back seat for awhile because studying will be far more important. I of course will make time for it here and there because balance is important. I'm just so excited to be continuing my education! I have a few months before it begins but I can't contain my excitement! I'll be sharing a few photos soon from the wedding! I had so much fun. I danced the night away with my family! It was a lot of smiles and laughs. I'm proud of my little brother and I wish him and his beautiful wife happiness in their new chapter!

Busy, busy, busy

Well I did get to create a little this week, but I'll wait till I finish the second half of the project to share on here. I have been extremely busy the last couple weeks. Happily I have been subbing a lot at the school thanks to end of the year meetings and testing. I LOVE being in the classroom with the kids and in a lot of cases going back and getting to see them again! I finally feel like I'm getting to know the staff at a few schools and I love it when then remember me! It makes me feel excepted! Other then working I have been riding, getting ready for motorcycle events and getting ready for my brother's wedding this weekend. I am getting excited to get dressed up in my pretty new dress and shoes and have my hair and makeup done. I never get gussied up let alone wear a dress! I'll share pictures when I can. I helped with some little details of the wedding which was just enough. I'll share that later too. I want to take pictures of the final product.

Today is my chapter of the red knights annual dinner at americade! I love seeing some familiar faces from convention and spending time with my amazing family. I'm sure I'll have pictures of that to share too. I guess I'm either excited or just used to getting up at 6 am (seeing that I'm writing at 6am). I hope that this finds you well! I promise pictures to come! Enjoy your day!

A little creating and some thinking

The last couple days have been really nice I spent yesterday afternoon thrift and craft shopping with my mom and did some craft shopping today too. Then we can home and crafted the rest of afternoon away. We ended up with the radio on and at one point mom needed to unplug it which made it lose the channel it was on. Mom scanned through the channels and ended up on one that eventually had Delilah. I personally never like her. I spent hour working at the scrapbook store listening to her voice and really didn't like her lol. But tonight that voice put me in a very nice calm place. It made me miss my home away from home. The wonderful ladies that I shared my time with there. The hours of stocking and reorganizing the shelves. The laughter and sometime tear that happened there. And all these thoughts brought on by one voice on the radio.

New look

so yesterday I had a date with my hair dresser. She can over and cut my hair.  I knew when we started that I wanted my bangs back.  I have to crazy cowlicks that stick up like devil horns too often and it seems like when I have bangs they aren't bad.  I love how she did them she spent time feathering them and making them look good.  The last time I had bangs the girl that did them didn't spend any time on them and they looked okay but not as awesome as they do now.  We also took about 2 inches off my hair and she did long layer through the back to make it look fuller.  The end result is cute.  I'm liking my new do.  There has been no crafting for the last week or so, but I feel like I should be blogging.  Hopefully the next few days aside from the little things I need to do around the house and maybe some riding.  I'm hoping to do something creative.  I have a small creative project planned for later but I can't share it because they are special cards that I don't want to spoil for some special little people in my life or their parents.  So I will post them when I know they got them.  So for now till we meet again....

Where did the weekend go?

I'm sitting on the couch at my aunt donna's house wondering where did the weekend go. I didn't do a whole lot. I made some earrings that need to be sent out in the morning. Other then that I hung out on the couch watched tv played on the computer and did laundry. Sometimes you need those kinds of weekends. Today I had an awesome dinner at aunt Donna and uncle john's. We had my favorite corn beef, cabbage, mashed potatoes and carrot! I'm happy to get out of the house, but I'm kinda feeling crafty with no craft stuff. Pin It Now!

Just feeling good

You know how sometimes when you put on something and it makes you feel great. I did that today I bought a new short sleeved sweater at kohls on clearance and I am one of those girls that when I buy something new I have to wear it right away. The sweater is a pretty rust color and works awesome with my new vintage amber and gold necklace, a black long sleeved shirt, jeans and a gold pair of vintage earrings. The funny thing I'm still wearing slippers and I plan on cleaning my house. All that matters is that I'm feeling awesome! Life is a roller coaster and I'm on top I haven't been here in a very long time. I'm sure at some point I'll hit a low but I'll deal with it when I get there!

Room makeover

I wish I had before picture...to be honest I might I have to look around for them. I do have a before on my wall former wallpaper. Blah!! I went paint shopping with my mom and had not a clue what I was looking for. I ended up settling on a beautiful color called fleeting fawn. It's an orange peach color. The thing that sparked this new paint color is I decide I hated hated hated my rug. It was trashed to the extreme it was about 15-20 year old. So it was time to go. I decided to put in a laminate wood floor. Frankly I went with the cheapest one we found because that was my budget cheap and after spending $50 on paint. The cheaper the better. So in the matter of 3 days I had a new wall color and new floor. I love it!! I have spent the last couple days enjoying my new craft room! Things are always changing in my craft room. I have plans on some new storage in the near future new stamp bins maybe, but I must get a new home for Archer my ferret first!

Happy Holidays

I have been MIA again and not because I want to be.  This holiday season has been busy with work, shopping, cleaning and preparing for the holiday season.  I'll be honest this year has been tough this year for me I'm not sure why, but I have been scrooge.  I tried a little bit of everything, decorating, shopping, baking nothing has worked, but Tuesday I had a little help from my favorite nephew when he and I sat down and read my favorite holiday story The Polar Express it was our second year reading it and the 15 month old sit and didn't move, didn't fuss, just listened to me read the story and looked at the pictures.  I was surprised because every time I try to read to him he wants down to play and run around.  I'm still a little bah humbug but helped me a little bit.  He's better then any present that little bundle of crazy with all his giggly smiles.  He mimics things we do now.  We egg him on to blow kisses, give high fives, and "pop" his finger out of his mouth.  My dad makes a pop noise by popping his finger out of his mouth and baby J tries doing it.  He just means the world to me!

The real reason for me doing this post was to wish all my blog reading friends a Happy Holidays!!! See you next year unless I get into a writing mood between now and then.   Pin It Now!
