Newest addition to the craft room

I mentioned that I got a metal cabinet from Ollie and I was hoping it would work in my craft room so I could get some stuff off the floor well it works perfectly! I have it next to my china cabinet and you can still walk through the room. It is hiding my magazines and some other not so pretty thing that were in baskets set on the floor. This is sooo much better. I'm hoping it will get a new coat of spray paint soon (whenever dad gets around to it), but I'm just happy to have it for the moment!

Room makeover

I wish I had before picture...to be honest I might I have to look around for them. I do have a before on my wall former wallpaper. Blah!! I went paint shopping with my mom and had not a clue what I was looking for. I ended up settling on a beautiful color called fleeting fawn. It's an orange peach color. The thing that sparked this new paint color is I decide I hated hated hated my rug. It was trashed to the extreme it was about 15-20 year old. So it was time to go. I decided to put in a laminate wood floor. Frankly I went with the cheapest one we found because that was my budget cheap and after spending $50 on paint. The cheaper the better. So in the matter of 3 days I had a new wall color and new floor. I love it!! I have spent the last couple days enjoying my new craft room! Things are always changing in my craft room. I have plans on some new storage in the near future new stamp bins maybe, but I must get a new home for Archer my ferret first!

It was time to organize

Well My mom went into our shared scrapbook room, which for the past couple months she hasn't stepped into and stated she had no idea where anything was. Well the last time I organized I kinda hide most of her stuff because frankly she is a messy person she leaves things out and then when she does look for something she doesn't take the two seconds of time to put whatever she pulled out back where it belongs. Don't get me wrong I'm not a neat crafter. When I'm working on a project I have stuff everywhere, but I only let a day go by before putting all the supplies away. Anyway due to her comment I went it there this morning because I didn't really have anything to do

and started the process. I moved things around so they made more sense. Figured out what I wanted to help the space some more went shopping for curtains (I found nothing I liked), a shelf and a cork board and a lamp for my bed room. I went to micheal's and did something amazing I walked by the scrapbook section and went to the wood aisle and found three shelves for $15 and had a 50% coupon so I got them for $8.

Went to target got my cork board and lamp and something for dinner and came home to start back in my scrapbook room. I only painted one of the shelves because I want to use crackle paint and don't have enough for the other two. So I painted a shelf, put a button boarder on my chalkboard, make my own pretty tacs using K&Company brads and organized most of the room. I'm pretty proud of myself. Pin It Now!

Getting Organized

Scrapbooking is a lot of fun, but sometimes I find organizing myself is more fun. Almost a challenge. So I have been trying some new things to get organized somethings work and other just don't. For awhile when I was limited to bags I was using fishing tackle containers to organize ribbion, foam letters, little do-das, but I find now that I have a scrapbook room one I never use the stuff, two they are annoying to store, and three they just don't work. So I have been playing around with some new ideas. I found mason jars in many sizes around my house (not even being used) so I washed them out (just in case) and now they hold wood and foam letters and buttons. I tried putting American craft little ribbon spools and it didn't work, so my ribbon is now contained in two ways my American Craft spools are in a vase (cause I have like four of them that I got flowers in and don't want to throw away) and in little plastic containers I got from work just before it closed. They were really cheap 20 for $1 so I got about $3 worth. I found that clear works good for me. I'm more likely to look in something when I can see in without opening. So my scrapbook room is has made some progress. I'm still working out a few things I would really like my Dad to build my mom and I a nicer shelf for our albums because they should be stored the way we store them. But with lack of room or a better storage solution at this point we have no choice. Some other things that I have done that I love include storing my foam stamps in penical cases I labeled each with what is in it (this idea was I believe from two peas), I store my cats eyes in one of those tackle things I metioned before, my wood stamps are stored in these neat boxes I found on sale after xmas they latch together so I can't ruin my stamps by putting too many on top of one another, what else OHH yeah my favorite new thing is my huge bullentin board. I organized all my chipboard letters in ziplock bags so that I can see them. I also have my heidi swap flowers up there and my acrylic stamps and any embellishment that I kept forgetting I had. Pictures are posted below of all my stuff!! almost all... I didn't post my paper racks yet. Pin It Now!
