Finished necklace #1

So all I did after making the pendents the other night was add a jump ring and chain. It makes for a quick and cute statement necklace.

***Don't mind the bad image the other caused a little stir on Facebook. Funny but not funny at the same time.

Work in progress

So I started to work on these tonight. What are they? Well they are wood pendants I thought about collaging them, but in the end decided to paint them my current favorite colors coral and turquoise and stamping on them. And just to make sure the stamp imaging don't fade or wear off I mod podged over them. I think they are cute now I have to figure out what to do with them. Hang them off a simple chain? Do beaded necklace there are lots of choice aren't there? Ttys

Garage sale finds

As all of you know I love, love, love me some buttons so when my boss from the deli I help at once and awhile had a garage sale and I found two big tins of buttons I had to have them! Yesterday I spent a good chunk of my day sorting them into colors categories. And now I have a huge tin of just white and off white buttons!! The rest of my collection takes up about 4 mason jars. I'm in button heaven! I also came away with an adorable metal tissue box for my bathroom, a small box of vintage costume jewelry that I thought I would use on my art, but I might end up wearing instead cause its cute. Two tubs of toys to sort through and clean for my nephews play room and a bunch of misc nick-knacks. She is doing the sale next weekend too I might go down and do some more digging at some point.

New Earrings listed in my shop

I just listed these two pairs of earrings in my shop aren't they fun?  I have had the peace sign beads since last year when I was working on paper beads and figured I would make a few pairs of earrings with them.  I made 5 pairs  3 of the longer ones and two of the shorter.  I kept a pair of the longer ones for myself.

While your there take a look around the shop they is lots to choose from.  Great gifts for one and all Christmas will be here before we know it.  I know I know you don't want to hear that, but this year flew by it seems.  It was a decent year in my opinion and I have had really bad years and some really good one and this past year was pretty good. If your on facebook and you like my shop feel free to stop by my shop page and like it to get the most up to date news, posting, and coupon codes.  http://www.facebook.com/GingersVintageRoom

Halloween Rose Buds

So I have been working on my etsy shop at the moment.  I would like for my craft to make me a little money at the very least to support my habit.  lol.  So I worked hard on roses to turn into earrings and bobby pins.  I really love how these came out.  With my earring set you receive three pairs of earrings in purple, green and orange these are on posts but clip-ons are available upon request.  The bobby pins are a set of three so you will receive three bobby pins in green, purple and orange.  You can find these in my etsy shop at www.etsy.com/gingerhollner

So I fibbed a little

So I fibbed a little I said I was going to post more yesterday and ended up in the craft room, so it just didn't happen.  These are for an altered charm swap.  I'm sure they look familiar, they are my altered poker chips.  I added jump rings and lobster claps so they can be quick attached to a pin that we will receive with the swap. A requirement that the host asked for was that we make some sort of label so that the receiver knows were our charms came from. so I made atc sized labels with a Tim Holtz atc background stamp and added my blog name to them.

Crafting has been happening

I can't really share what I've been working on just yet I'm doing a few little things nothing major, so far nothing I can share, but I do have few websites/artists I would love to share with you today.  I love to click on all the blogs in my side bar and sometimes that leads me to other blogs and artists and website that I drool over.  Today I feel like sharing with you some jewelry makers that I wish I could own a piece of their jewelry.  First is Lisa Leonard she makes these beautiful simple silver necklaces that you can customize they are soooo awesome!  Then looking through her blog I found another amazingly talented artist Allora Handmade.  I would die for one of her necklaces!! I think you should go check out there stuff maybe support the artist (if I had some money I would).

One button necklace so many options

Halloween (purple, lime green, black)
Red script and black
Turquoise and white with turquoise Great for winter
Fall (maroon, orange and white with dark green edges)
Christmas (Maroon and dark green edges)
Spring (pink, lime green, purple)
Halloween choice 2 (orange, lime green, and black)
So I have been thinking about those really cool necklaces that you see now that are short of set off center and most of them a beautiful but probably can be only worn with one outfit and I'm one of those people that will buy something cause I love it then it just sits there because it is out of my comfort zone to wear it.  I was looking at my rose pins and thinking how much I love them and I was wearing a simple long white button necklace and though hey what if I combined the two.  Here is my newest idea.  I took two or three rose pins set them off center on my necklace and use a special pin back to create they various looks with one button necklace.  I'm loving them I started off my day wearing the Red and Black roses cause I had a red knight meeting and they matched my vest and then after switching out different ones landed on the turquoise and white with turquoise edged roses.  I like when I can take one item and jazz it up.   Pin It Now!

Buttons and Roses galore

Well I have been keeping busy with my craft show stuff in between life so here are the newest necklaces in COLOR.  Unfortunately these will be very limited because I'm having a hard time finding colored buttons.  I will be doing some antique store shopping and my mom gave me the idea of going to Salvation army to get them off shirts when I can't find them by the bag.  As for the rose pins there are 56 in total which you see above.  Then you might notice a poker chip that isn't a necklace that's because I made it into a pin!! I'm considering making a few of them for the show.  and last but not least are my rose bobby pins.  They look amazing in an undo.  I'm currently wearing a special one I made in my pony tail.

Swaps complete!!!

First off I want to apologize for the fact that the photos aren't croped like I normally crop them, but I just got lazy today. I created these two little fat book pages and necklace yesterday. The necklace was supposed to be a gift but I made a second one so I could have the first one. I think all came out really good. The first little fat book page is for the Christmas Inchies swap at the Vintage Room it was a fun swap where we created inches to be sent to Fran who then swapped them and sent us back a collection of everyone else's work we then had to incorpate three of inches in a little fat book page. It is suprisingly difficult to do this task especially when differnt color schemes are used on each inchies, but I made it work and created a winter scene with my new vintage ice skater stamp I picked up the stamp store on tuesday. I am falling in love with her as you can tell. She is too cute and a great muse for the incoming winter.

The next Little fat book page is another swap that I hosted at the Vintage Room The theme was Thankful for... needless to say I am thankful for a lot of things this year but one of the many things is my art and the friendships I have created while finding myself as an artist. The funny thing is that growing up I always new I was an artist. It was just this feeling I had that I had to create. I was never proud of my work persay. I just drew things that weren't that good, wrote poems (that I was told were good), I tried pottery and painting and in the end could find my creative outlet. Then I walked into my Local Scrapbook store and feel like I was home. Literally that was the first feeling I had when I walked in the door. I started small with my baby pictures and as time went on I grew. I worked and played in my scrapbook store till it closed a couple of years ago :(. Then I was feeling lost as a scrapbooker about a year ago. My pictures ran out in a sense and was feeling frustrated about the holes in photos (missing pictures because of my mother's divorce). SO my best friend started telling me about ATC and this great local group that she had joined and later taken over and after some push from her I started playing with this new medium for me. And a monster was born... that has allowed me to create beautiful pieces of "ART" that I can be beyond proud of. This piece was done in beeswax which is my new fun techique to play with. I have rambled enough for this evening. I can't wait to go create with my friend tomorrow!!! Pin It Now!

Taking a break from the heat

Today so far I got all my clothes in the camper, cleaned out the van, scrubbed all the chairs and boy is it hot out. So because its so hot I came in to have lunch and cool down and in my free time I made a button bracelet and another necklace (this time in blacks/greys/etc). I don't know why but I find these a lot of fun. I think I will take some buttons and string on vacation and I was thinking about running to Joann's to get some latches. I also think the hemp is going to come with me so I can keep my hands busy on the beach. I might go buy myself I new hemp book (I have one just don't have a clue were it is). Now off to put all the chairs in the van. Pin It Now!

A Button Filled Morning

I woke up this morning thinking of buttons... Yes buttons!! Can you believe it. I was thinking how can I use alot of buttons on one project?? I love creating jewelry and I don't do it very often but when I do I'm really proud, so this morning I infused my love of jewelry and my love of buttons and I created this beautiful necklace using some of my great grandma's button collection, so not only is this a fun piece of jewelry it is a piece of my great grandma and probably some of my great great grandma. Most of the buttons came from their clothes things they wore. How cool is that. My mom thinks I'm nuts and isn't a fan of my necklace, but that is typical. Pin It Now!

Recent Work

Well I've taken a little break from Scrapbooking itself, not a long one I did a few pages last month, but recently I have been creating some non scrapbooking projects. I have altered some items. So here they are.
The purse I did awhile ago the matching bracelet I just did a few weeks ago. Both Used Basic Grey's Oh Baby Girl Line, The purse I used Heidi Swap flowers and Bling Lines, Bazzill Big Brads (which was altered with Heidi's bling and BG paper).

Here are two more Bracelets I have made. The one used Basic Grey again, Prima Flowers and Brads I found in the Target dollar Bin. The other used Basic Grey paper, which you can barely tell and Fancy Pants Stamps a long with an oak colored Stain. I made that one to wear to my Great Grandmother's funeral.

Okay the last three pictures are a set that I created. The Wooden Word came first I used Green matching Paint, Basic Grey paper, American Craft Rick Rack, Heidi Swap Clear Hearts, Brads (not sure what Company) and Prima Flowers. I loved the way it came out and decided that I can use it in my new Scrapbook room after we move (hopefully soon) then I was bored and decided I needed a project that's when I pulled out a Provo Craft 12x12 clipboard I picked up on Clearence a long time ago (I had two) and started playing with matching paper. I used the same product aside from the flowers. When that was done a couple days later I decided hey why not make the other Clipboard match (they say to do things in three when decorating) So I played with the last Clipboard forever before I ended up with the final product. Chipboard G from Rusty Pickle, Felt Flowers from American Crafts, Heidi Swap Blig Lines, Heidi Swap Heart, and Title from EZ Lazer Designs (It really Said I am a Scrapbook Diva I cut off I am a). I hope you enjoy my new stuff I hope to share more soon. Pin It Now!
